Cecilia Pessanha
Practice and SDGs Lead, Impact Management Project

Ceci leads the IMP’s work on impact management practice and the SDGs, as well as strategic engagements in Asia. This involves working to provide streamlined guidelines on what good impact management and measurement processes look like for investors, corporates, social enterprises and foundations, amongst others. She also helps organisations measure their impact against the SDGs by ensuring that impact is experienced by those who are most underserved.

Prior to the IMP, Ceci worked for the International Finance Corporation, advising governments in the structuring of Public-Private Partnerships across Latin America. She also worked for the Lemann Foundation in Brazil, where she conducted a market analysis to implement best practices in grant making; and for Shekere, a Kenyan consumer goods distribution enterprise, where she developed a last mile sales and distribution strategy in four Kenyan cities. Ceci holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from PUC-Rio and a dual MBA/MPA degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Born and raised in Brazil, Ceci has lived in Mexico, the United States and Kenya. She is now based in the Philippines, working on her diving and karaoke skills with her husband, Gio.
