Wan-Ju Yu (余宛如)
Legislator of Democratic Progressive Party

Yu wan-Ju (Karen) is a Taiwanese politician and social entrepreneur. She was nominated by the DPP (Democratic Progressive Party) to run for 2016 legislative elections and was elected as a legislator-at-large-seat.

Yu is an outstanding model for young entrepreneurs because she started her professional career as a female social entrepreneur and then became a legislator. She founded her own business Okogreen, which is the first international-recognized fair trade company in Taiwan, and brought social impact to the society. In 2015, Yu started to run the first Social Enterprise Hub in Taiwan to further accelerate the growth of social enterprises.

Currently, Legislator Yu serves as the president of Inter-Parliamentary Association on Digital Economy and Social Economy and Parliamentary Union on D-Nation, promoting legislation amendments including Statute for Industrial Innovation, Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professional Talent, Fundamental Science and Technology Act, Company Act, FinTech Innovation Supervision (Focusing on Regulatory Sandbox), Financial Innovation Experiment Regulations and Social Enterprise Development Act. Yu is assigned to the Finance Committee in the Legislative Yuan, speaking up for startups, young entrepreneurs and social enterprises in Taiwan.
