Yi-Ying Lin (林依瑩)

Yi-ying Lin, former Deputy Mayor of Taichung, has devoted herself in the area of older adults welfare for over 20 years. When she served as CEO of Hongdao Senior Citizen's Welfare Foundation, she launched "All-in-one walk around”care service, and encouraged 17 older adults to pursue their dreams to set out a 13-day feat of motorbike tour around Taiwan. The story was later filmed into the movie "Go Grandriders!", which broke the box office record of the best documentary film in Taiwan. The film also successfully flipped societal perception about older people and uplifted positive views and actions towards older adults.

During her service as Deputy Mayor of Taichung in 2016, she supervised 12 bureaus and was responsible for International NGO Center (INGO), the first East Asian Youth Games, and the dengue fever prevention and control project. She consolidated the long-term healthcare under health bureau, promoted the seamless service project for discharged patients, advocated central DRGs payment, popularized the geriatric daycare centers, so that the long-term healthcare in Taichung are easily accessible to those who need it.

After relinquishing the role, she still concerned about the long-term healthcare especially for those in the remote mountainous areas. She chose to settle in in the Daguan tribe and devoted herself on long-term healthcare, senior citizen and social welfare work, and focus on the training and supervision in the areas of long-term healthcare, volunteer, community services, non-profit organization management and policy redesign etc.
