Mr. Ray Chen has devoted himself to the movement of Social Entrepreneurship/Innovation in Taiwan since 2007.  In Spring 2007, Ray founded the first-ever Research Initiative on Social Entrepreneurship in Taiwan at Fu-Jen Catholic University. He then joined Flow, Inc., the first social venture capital funded by Mr. Steve Chang, Founder of Trend Micro, a leading cyber security firm.

In Spring 2014, Ray and Mr. Chih-Kai (CK) Cheng started up the first impact investment fund in Taiwan - B Current Impact Investment with other 41 angels from Taiwan and Silicon Valley through a club funding approach – by invitation only with equal amount per investor per capital call. Later in Summer 2017, B Current launched Fund 2 by mainly institutional investors from various industry sectors, and hopefully soon Fund 3 in Spring 2020. In the past 5 years B Current has invested in 11 social enterprises and profit-with-purpose businesses/B Corps in Taiwan. For every dollar invested it was matched by 3 dollars from other co-investors.

Previously, Ray was a Partner at Andersen Business Consulting, Deloitte Consulting, and ABeam Consulting. One of Ray’s dreams is to foster the impact investing sector in Taiwan growing together with his 13-year-old son, Jeremy.
